According to Hindu cosmology, there are four great epochs (Yugas) that cycle through time, each representing a gradual decline in spiritual and moral values. Satya Yuga is the pinnacle of this cycle, where the pursuit of truth and spiritual practice comes naturally to all beings. It is a metaphorical ideal for a state of perfect inner and outer harmony.
Referenced as an aspirational metaphor for cultivating inner purity and truthfulness in one's own life, regardless of the current age. Used to inspire students to align with their own Dharma and live a life of integrity, even amidst the challenges of the modern world. Instructors may use this term to explain that the purpose of Yoga is to reconnect with this innate state of spiritual purity.
Present Satya Yuga as a symbolic state of being—a potential that exists within each individual—rather than a distant, unattainable historical period. Encourage students to find moments of truthfulness and inner peace in their daily lives, as these are echoes of the Satya Yuga.
