Bindu (Point of Origin / Seed of Energy)

Bindu means "point" or "dot" in Sanskrit. It symbolizes the point of origin of creation, the subtle, concentrated source from which all sound, form, and consciousness emerge. It is the microcosmic essence of the macrocosm.

In tantric and yogic diagrams, Bindu is often represented as a point or a dot, symbolizing the seed of the universe and the unmanifested potential of all things. It is considered the concentrated point of Shakti (cosmic energy) and is often associated with the third eye (Ajna Chakra). Meditating on this point is believed to awaken inner wisdom and spiritual power.

Visualized in meditation and Trataka practices as a point of focus to center awareness and awaken subtle energy. Used to help practitioners experience inner stillness and the unity that exists beyond the world of form. Instructors may guide students to focus their inner gaze on the "point between the eyebrows," which is often a physical representation of this energetic center.
