Shakti (Divine Energy / Empowerment)

Śakti is the primordial cosmic energy, the dynamic, creative, and feminine force of the universe. It is the power that animates all of existence, manifesting as creation, preservation, and transformation. It is the embodiment of divine empowerment.

In yogic and tantric traditions, Shakti is personified as the goddess and is the active power of the universe, often seen in contrast to Shiva, who represents pure, passive consciousness. It is the energy that moves through the Nadis and Chakras, and its awakening is the ultimate goal of many Yoga practices.

Invoked in practices that focus on awakening and directing energy, such as Kundalini Yoga, certain Pranayama techniques, and devotional chanting. Used to encourage practitioners to connect with their innate power and strength, both on and off the mat. Instructors may guide students to feel a surge of creative energy or empowerment, reminding them that they are a channel for this universal force.
