Jala Netī is comprised of "Jala" (water) and "Netī" (nasal cleansing). It is a purification technique where a Neti pot and warm saline solution are used to cleanse the nasal passages by pouring water into one nostril and letting it flow out the other.
It washes away mucus, allergens, and bacteria from the nasal passages, promoting respiratory health. It is believed to clear the Prana (life force energy) pathway and sharpen the sense of smell. It also contributes to mental calmness and concentration.
Practiced as one of the Shatkarmas (purification techniques). Recommended before Pranayama (breathing techniques). Also used for allergy and rhinitis relief, and cold prevention. Instructors guide on proper water temperature, saline concentration, and posture.
Emphasize that "it dramatically improves the quality of nasal breathing and leads to deeper Pranayama." Stress the importance of water quality and instrument hygiene for infection prevention.
