वज्रासन
It means a strong and stable posture, and it is one of the few asanas believed to aid digestion after a meal.
Also known asDiamond Pose
Vajrāsana is comprised of "Vajra" (thunderbolt, diamond, strong) and "Āsana" (posture/seat). It means a strong and stable posture, and it is one of the few asanas believed to aid digestion after a meal.
Unlike other seated poses that require hip flexibility, Vajrāsana demands flexibility in the knees and ankles. It is said to promote blood flow to the digestive system, helping to alleviate indigestion and constipation. It is also used as a seated posture for meditation and Pranayama.
Sit in a kneeling position, placing the sitting bones on the heels. The tops of the feet are flat on the floor; if needed, a towel can be placed under the ankles for support. Lengthen the spine and relax the shoulders.
If students experience knee or ankle pain, advise them not to force the pose and encourage the use of props (cushion, blanket). In addition to its physical benefits like aiding digestion, also mention its aspect of promoting mental stability.
